As the downtown areas keep being under construction over the world, buildings are higher and deeper. That’s one of the reasons for the ground weakness. But, unfortunately, it also causes many dangerous situations like building sinking and road collapse. To prevent this kind of situation, Safety Assessment before being under construction is getting more critical than before.

In this presentation, We will focus on how to predict and prevent those situations using FEM analysis. In particular, this presentation includes seepage analysis considering rainfall intensity and seepage-stress coupled analysis for the checking of settlement of adjacent ground and structures and vertical displacement of retaining wall. Of course, this is just one concept of assessment, but it can give you many insights.
