MIDAS Geotech - Free FEM Online Courses in 2021 Overview - GTS NX Online Course 5 Sessions Training Course (Feb 16 ~ June 11) | Duration : 60 Min
Done
OVERVIEW

This course is designed to boost your skills in computational geotechnics using finite element methodology. All aspects of numerical modelling will be covered ranging from conceptualization to interpretation and practical implementation of engineering design. This tailor-made course will enhance your modelling and analysis skills thus resulting in higher productivity at no cost.

These sessions will cover details of what needs to be considered for numerical modelling of slopes, tunnels, foundations, excavations and soil dynamics. On completion, you will be able to tackle the geotechnical numerical modelling issues confidently, thus avoiding redundancies and common problems

TAKE-AWAY

This series of webinars is not a typical webinar format but a hands-on training type training series. During the courses, the assignment for each topic will be provided to the attendees, and participants will be issued a two-week GTS NX full license to perform their assignment.

This series will NOT be released online in the form of On-Demand, but will only be available through Live Webinar.
Online certificates and surprise gifts are waiting for active participants.
We look forward to your participation.

As a participant in these 5-session courses, you'll get

  • 01 Official Certification of Completion

Official certificate of completion will be provided to participants who have completed the course and submitted their homework four out of five courses.

  • 02 Free Training License

GTS NX Training license will be provided to the training attendees for free in order to provide the hands-on experience of numerical analysis and help conduct the training assignments.

  • 03 Tech-Support for homework

As for the assignment for each topic, MIDAS engineers will give the dedicated support and review to help your hands-on experience.

  • 04 Apple AirPods Pro

Participants who show a lot of questions and great effort throughout the course will receive a small gift of gratitude.

AGENDA
Session 01 Comprehensive Slope Stability
Analysis and Design

Feb 16, 2021 (Tue)

>> Go to the course page

Session 1 gives a comprehensive study of slope design and reinforcement planning for natural slopes using the Strength Reduction Method. Various topics, ranging from natural slopes FoS Calculation to the use of reinforcement for unsafe soil-based slopes, will be covered.

Session 02 Fundamental of Seismic Analysis

March 9, 2021 (Tue)

>> Go to the course page

In many regions, the assessment of seismic risk and the implications on design become increasingly significant.
You will get an overview of the dynamic analysis,

which focused on seismic applications.

Session 03 Deep Excavation Analysis
according to Eurocode 7

April 13, 2021 (Tue)

>> Go to the course page

In this session, Ultimate Limit State (ULS) calculation will be defined and performed for the excavation analysis. We will also present the design approach of Eurocode 7. It will allow using partial factors for loads and materials after a serviceability calculation has been performed.

Session 04 Construction Stage Analysis of 3D Tunnelling

May 11, 2021 (Tue)

>> Go to the course page

The stress state induced by the construction of a tunnel is three-dimensional (3D) in general. Furthermore, 2D analysis & design of tunnels is hard to appropriately access the behavior of cross &main tunnel intersection, which is more vulnerable. This session covers the necessary 3D modeling & analysis approach in this regard.

Session 05 Numerical Modelling of
Ground Improvement

June 8, 2021 (Tue)

>> Go to the course page

The construction on soft soil leads to an increase on pore pressure. As a result, the effective stress remains low and intermediate consolidation periods have to be considered. In this session we will lock into the behaviours of ground improvement subjected to long-term consolidation.
