The time-dependent behavior of clayey soils always poses a risk for any kind of project be it foundations, railway and roadway embankment, quay walls, etc. Every year huge maintenance costs are involved to tackle the consolidation settlement of railways and roadway embankments. A prior ground improvement in such conditions could play a pivotal role in the long-term success of the project.
This online session focuses on the simulation of the vertical drains technique to improve the ground. The behavior of the clayey soil with natural drainage and with vertical drains at 2m, and 4m spacings will be captured. The dissipation of pore pressure and consolidation settlement over time are extracted.
All the different training examples through the webinar sessions and certification tasks are designed to enhance the understanding of training. Engineering professionals and graduates are invited to attend this course for free.
