Euro code needs to apply in the civil industry more and more now a day. Eurocode 7 (EN 1997) contains geotechnical design, which is largely two parts.
Eurocode 7 part 1 (EN 1997-1) gives design guidance and actions for geotechnical design of buildings and civil engineering works and is concerned with the requirements for strength, stability, serviceability, and durability of structures. Eurocode 7 part 2 (EN 1997-2) contains ground investigation and testing. Under Eurocode 7 part 1 (EN 1997-1), there are three design approaches and demonstrated the recommended values for action, soil parameters, and resistance.
GTS NX has a partial factor function which is providing a database of design approach 1 combination 1 (DA1C1), design approach 1 combination 2 (DA1C2), design approach 2 (DA2), and design approach 3 (DA3).
Through this webinar, you will learn the knowledge as below,
1- Workflow of GTS NX
2- Usage of partial factor function
3- The ways for the construction stage
4- Result checking from GTS NX
In this course, we will perform the 2D excavation analysis using the partial factor function.
There are retaining wall and support system such as strutting. Sequential analysis to excavation down and install the strut will be carried out after the stage of casting the retaining wall.
Water condition is considering with line from every excavation stage and assumed by the phreatic condition. Design approach 1 combination 1 (DA1C1) and design approach 1 combination 2 (DA1C2) will be applied in this analysis. Settlement of ground, displacement of retaining wall, and forces from temporary structures is checking after the analysis.
We will generate fine mesh around the checking area and with coarse mesh on the rest part.
GTS NX has a database to fill out the recommended values automatically when it has been selected.
The excavation works will carry out construction stage analysis. The sub-stage function will use for the partial factor.
Checking the settlement of ground, displacement of the retaining wall, forces from temporary structures.
This topic is about understanding Eurocode and its application to the FEM program.
