Case Study Webinar Modelling of Root-Soil Interaction
of Tree Biomechanics
August 24, 2021 (Tuesday)
- Time 1: GMT 3 am / SGT 11 am / AEST 1 pm / NZT 3 pm
- Time 2: GMT 8 am / BST 9 am / CEST 10 am / CAT 10 am / GST 12 pm / IST 1:30 pm  | Duration : 60 min
On-Demand
OVERVIEW

Climate change impacts on tree stability are often associated with a higher risk of wind throw due to higher frequency and magnitudes of the extremes of climate. Higher lateral loads due to an increase in maximum wind and rainfall reduce tree anchorage due to a decrease in soil matric suction and consequently the overall strength in trunk-root-soil.

In this presentation, key aspects of tree biomechanics and unsaturated soil behavior will be discussed and highlighted for urban environments.
